Belmont's Between You & Me Anniversary Tour made its stop at Allentown's new Archers Music Hall, giving me my first chance to check out the venue. With the show booked in the smaller room, I expected something cramped, but the space struck a nice balance, intimate without feeling claustrophobic. It was the perfect setting for a lineup that thrived on crowd interaction and nonstop energy.
Oregon trio all in your head kicked off the night with an infectious stage presence. The band's frontwoman immediately connected with the audience, joking about Shoe Fly Pie between songs and setting a welcoming tone from the start. The band's instrumentation hit hard, with the drums rattling through the room, though at times they overpowered the vocals. I found myself wishing the mix gave the singer a little more room to shine because her personality deserved to come through as clearly as the rest of the band.
Canada's spite house followed, gradually turning the crowd's attention toward the center of the floor as the first signs of a pit began to form. Their most memorable moment came when the vocalist introduced "10 Days," explaining that the song, and ultimately the band, was born from the loss of both of his parents. It was an unexpectedly vulnerable moment that gave the performance emotional weight beyond the usual opener set.
After a 13-year hiatus, Major League returned to the stage looking like they hadn't missed a beat. Instead of opening with an explosive track, they eased into their set with a slower, more restrained song, a choice that caught me off guard but paid off by building anticipation. Before shifting into higher gear, the band reflected on reconnecting after more than a decade apart and expressed their excitement about entering a new chapter while supporting Belmont. By the end of their set, the pit had grown noticeably more intense, and the room was more than ready for the headliner.
Belmont wasted no time taking control of the room. The band constantly challenged the audience, joking that Allentown "looked weak" and daring the crowd to prove them wrong. The response was immediate. The pit erupted, the energy never dipped, and nearly everyone in the room was moving from start to finish.
Playing the Between You & Me EP in full to celebrate its 10th anniversary, Belmont balanced nostalgia with the urgency of a band that still performs like it has something to prove. Having seen them once before, I expected a solid set, but this performance carried a different edge. It felt heavier, more chaotic, and more emotionally charged than I remembered, making for a show that celebrated the past without ever feeling stuck in it.
